Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Kawasuke Store (川助商店, "we") handles information in the iOS apps we provide (Similar Photo Search, Image Compare, JPEG/HEIF Converter, Gengo Seireki, Coordinate Measure, Angler's Unit Converter, Shrine Visit Log; together, the "Apps").

This English version is provided for convenience. If there is any inconsistency, the Japanese version prevails.

1. Information we collect

The Apps do not collect your name, email address or phone number. Photos, images and anything you enter are, as a rule, processed and stored on your device and are not sent to our servers.

2. Access to device features

  • Photo library and camera: used only to provide each App's features, such as searching, comparing, converting, deleting or adding photos. Image analysis runs on your device.
  • Location: used by Shrine Visit Log to show nearby shrines and confirm visits, and by Similar Photo Search to filter photos by place. Location is used only while the App is in use and is never sent to us.
  • Reminders: used by Shrine Visit Log to remind you when it is time to renew charms and other items.

You can change these permissions at any time in the iPhone Settings app.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free versions of the Apps use Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google LLC. To serve and measure ads and prevent fraud, AdMob may collect the advertising identifier (IDFA), device information, approximate location, ad interaction data, and diagnostics such as crash data.

Tracking with the IDFA happens only if you allow it in the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you do not allow it, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized. You can change this anytime in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

4. In-app purchases (RevenueCat)

We use RevenueCat, Inc. to verify and manage purchases. Your purchase history and an anonymous identifier generated by the App are sent to RevenueCat. Payments are processed by Apple; neither we nor RevenueCat receive your credit card details. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.

5. iCloud and Game Center (Shrine Visit Log)

  • Backups of your visit records, photos and notes are stored in your own iCloud (CloudKit private database). We cannot view their contents.
  • Shared data needed for the App to work, such as shrine information, is managed in the CloudKit public database.
  • If you join the leaderboards, your Game Center player name and totals such as your visit count are shown to other players on Game Center.

6. Contact form and website analytics

We use Google Forms for inquiries and correction reports. What you submit is used only to respond to you and improve the Apps.

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how it is viewed. It does not use cookies and aggregates information such as pages viewed, referrer, approximate region and browser type without identifying you.

7. Sharing with third parties

Except for the services described above and where required by law, we do not share or sell your information to third parties without your consent.

8. Deleting your data

Deleting an App removes the data stored on your device. Data saved to iCloud can be deleted in Settings > Apple Account > iCloud.

9. Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes in law or features. We will announce important changes on this page or in the Apps.
